Doug Adams

The Eddy series is based on the visual poem "Like an eddy" by Earle Birney. The poem reads "like an eddy my words turn about your bright rock." Birney handwrote the poem and joined all the words in order to recreate the continuous "eddy"-like effect of swirling water. I have always enjoyed the visual impact and the meaning of the poem and while I was playing with abstraction verging on landscape I wanted to convey a sense of movement and a swirling around a brightness.
